Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

In this role, you will be the first dedicated DevOps engineer at 0G Labs, responsible for overseeing the entire cloud platform. This includes managing infrastructure, deployments, networking, and security across multiple providers like Google Cloud, AWS, and Alibaba Cloud.

You will work closely with developers to ensure efficient operations, focusing on Kubernetes cluster management, CI/CD processes, and cost management. Success in this position means effectively enabling your team and maintaining high operational standards in a rapidly evolving environment.

Skills that matter here

• Kubernetes: You will run, upgrade, and scale Kubernetes clusters as part of the cloud operations.
• Google Cloud: Experience with Google Cloud is essential for managing the cloud infrastructure.
• AWS: You will need production experience with AWS as part of the multi-cloud strategy.
• Alibaba Cloud: Knowledge of Alibaba Cloud is required to manage the platform's resources.
• Terraform: You will define environments using Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• CI/CD: In-depth understanding of CI/CD processes is crucial for effective pipeline design and operations.

What you'll own

• You own the platform, from the network edge to the bill.
• Cloud operations: provisioning, upgrades, capacity and the full resource lifecycle on Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and AWS.
• Kubernetes: run, upgrade and scale our clusters.
• Blockchain node fleet: operate validator, sentry, seed, RPC and archive nodes.
• Networking and edge: VPC design, load balancers, DNS, Cloudflare Workers, Tunnels and WAF.
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD: every environment defined in Terraform or Pulumi.
• Observability and on-call: metrics, logs, alerts and dashboards.
• Security and access: least-privilege IAM across every provider.
• Cost management: billing exports, budgets and alerts.
• Developer enablement: templates, preview environments, documentation and support for the engineers who ship on the platform.

Must-haves

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform roles, including 3+ years running production Kubernetes.
• Kubernetes, in depth.
• Networking inside the cluster: CNI, Services, Ingress or Gateway API.
• Security: RBAC, Pod Security, workload identity.
• CI/CD, in depth: Pipeline design and operations.
• Production experience on at least two of Google Cloud, AWS and Alibaba Cloud.
• Terraform or Pulumi in production, plus scripting in Bash and in Python or Go.

Nice to have

• Running blockchain nodes in production.
• Cloudflare Workers, Tunnels and Zero Trust at scale.
• CKA or CKS certification, a FinOps certification.
