About the Opportunity
- Define the architecture and technical direction of the identity platform.
- Work across product, engineering, compliance, and security to determine how identity is captured, verified, stored, linked, and exposed safely through APIs and SDKs.
- Lead through ambiguity and turn a broad identity and KYC vision into a clear technical strategy.
- Build a unified identity layer that can support multiple MoonPay products.
- Model the lifecycle of a customer’s identity, including creation, verification, linking, updates, consent, and deletion.
- Build secure APIs and SDKs for internal teams and external partners.
- Define how identity data is stored, accessed, and shared across products.
- Create a platform developers trust with public-facing APIs, SDKs, and documentation.
About You
- Must-have experience and skills:
- Identity platform experience with production identity, KYC, authentication, or customer-data infrastructure.
- Defined shared technical foundations rather than delivering only a single onboarding or login experience.
- Built public APIs and SDKs used by external developers.
- Understanding of security, privacy, and operational requirements for identity information.
- Ability to reason across data models, verification providers, product workflows, compliance requirements, and failure modes.
- Experience in taking undefined problems and creating a technical direction.
- Hands-on engineering experience in designing, building, reviewing, and operating production systems.
- Nice-to-have experience:
- Built identity or KYC infrastructure within payments, fintech, banking, or another regulated environment.
- Familiarity with OAuth, OIDC, WebAuthn, passkeys, session management, or account recovery.
- Experience with multiple KYC, KYB, or identity-verification providers.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency, wallets, or digital-asset products.
