About this role
Heatherglade is looking for a 2D Creative Artist to create visual materials for mobile games. Join a global team and contribute to projects with over 50 million players.
Description
Heatherglade is an international game studio. We develop our own mobile idle projects with an audience of over 50 million players. Our employees work from different countries around the world. The team consists of more than 40 people. Due to team expansion, we are looking for a 2D Creative Artist.
Responsibilities
- Develop visual solutions based on hypotheses and scenarios from the creative producer: defining style, scene setting, angle selection, and visual emphasis placement;
- Create sketches and storyboards for advertising creatives and playblasts: elaborating key frames, character actions, and visual narrative sequences;
- Visually adapt scripts: propose alternative solutions, simplify overloaded scenes, and enhance key moments while preserving the original idea;
- Quickly prepare several options for visual presentation to test creative hypotheses;
- Illustrate characters, environments, objects, backgrounds, and other 2D assets in the specified style;
- Prepare assets for animation and technical assembly: layer separation and elements, character slicing, organizing source files according to team requirements;
- Create and maintain templates for source files for quick adaptation and reuse of materials;
- Use AI tools for idea generation, visual variant development, and production acceleration; manually refine results while maintaining quality, readability, and consistent style.
Requirements
- Strong artistic foundation: confident mastery of composition, color, light and shadow, perspective, and anatomy;
- Marketing awareness and understanding of visual presentation for mobile game advertising creatives;
- Ability to frame shots that capture attention within seconds: create clear visual hierarchy, highlight the main elements, and maintain overall scene readability;
- Creative thinking: ability to propose diverse solutions for a single task and find fresh presentations for familiar plots;
- Ability to quickly create expressive sketches and storyboards, conveying action, emotions, and the main idea;
- Ability to translate scripts and marketing hypotheses into visual solutions considering the audience's expected reactions;
- Ability to draw characters and objects from different angles, work in various styles, and maintain visual consistency;
- Confident mastery of Adobe Photoshop and skills in preparing .psd source files for further team work;
- Practical experience using AI tools for image generation, idea searching, and work acceleration; ability to control results and refine them manually;
- Independence, openness to feedback, and ability to work in a team;
- Portfolio demonstrating artistic foundation, diversity of visual solutions, and work in different styles. Sketches, storyboards, and examples of asset preparation for animation are welcomed.
