Description

Building the Future of Open Finance

Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system. Before you apply, we encourage you to explore our [culture page](https://www.kraken.com/culture) to understand what drives us and how we work.

The Team

Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients. Our API support team handles inquiries from clients using our API to implement various projects, from mobile apps, to high frequency trading bots, to other exchanges sourcing our liquidity.
Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Answer clients’ API questions via text and live support channels (Zendesk/Email/Telegram/Zoom).
  • Assist colleagues with API inquiries and projects involving API use cases.
  • Diagnose and provide solutions for clients’ API related issues.
  • Assist clients in implementing their API code (provide integration advice, debug client code, provide code examples).
  • Develop and maintain our official API libraries/wrappers in multiple programming languages.
  • Maintain internal and client facing API documentation, support content, and training resources.
  • Provide testing and feedback for new API features before they are released to clients.
  • Perform API related engineering tasks (API onboarding, firewall management, networking configuration).
  • Assist in the management of our API support team (QA for other specialists, etc.).
Requirements

What You Bring

  • Knowledge and experience of at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, C/C++/C#, Rust, for example).
  • Understanding of REST, WebSocket, and FIX API functionality.
  • Experience interpreting multiple data formats (JSON, CSV, XML, FIX 4.4, etc.).
  • Experience managing hosts (AWS instances, for example) and networks (firewall configuration, etc.).
  • Ability to write complex technical documentation in a human friendly format.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience writing trading related code for REST, WebSocket, or FIX APIs (not necessarily crypto).
  • Experience with Google Sheets, Google Script, SQL, and other data tools.
  • Experience with third party API tools (Postman, N8N, for example).
  • UNIX command line knowledge (bash/sed/awk/grep/expect/etc.)
  • Language ability (in addition to English).
