About this role

Inca Digital is seeking a Lead Editor to create compelling visual narratives from technical concepts. This fully remote role involves collaboration with various teams to deliver high-quality motion graphics and manage the animation pipeline.

Description

About Us

Inca Digital is a veteran-owned data and intelligence company delivering digital-asset analytics for exchanges, financial institutions, regulators, and blockchain ecosystems. By fusing data across blockchains, exchanges, social networks, and markets, our platform delivers market surveillance, ecosystem monitoring, and counter–illicit finance intelligence to help clients manage risk and make better decisions. We operate as a fast-paced, fully remote, global tech team driven by an asynchronous-first workflow, minimal meetings, and logic over authority. Here, you'll collaborate with top-tier intelligence analysts, defense veterans, data engineers, quant researchers, and linguists to solve complex global challenges.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative, self-driven Lead Editor to translate technical concepts, data narratives, and brand stories into clear, compelling visual narratives. In this role, you will serve as a central motion design resource—fielding and triaging incoming requests from internal stakeholders across C-Suite, Business Development, and Marketing. You will take ownership of the full motion design workflow: interpreting brief materials, balancing incoming requests with proactive conceptual work, and turning abstract ideas into dynamic visual narratives that align with our brand identity. You won't just be executing storyboards; you will be an active partner in shaping how our stories are visually told. This is a fully remote, global role. We operate on an async-first model, meaning your location and time zone do not matter—you are free to work whenever you are most productive. The only scheduling requirement is the flexibility to attend a couple of fixed weekly team syncs and occasional ad-hoc project alignment meetings, as well as the agility to handle occasional short, time-sensitive project turnarounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Ingestion: Field, triage, and translate incoming requests from marketing, business development, and executive teams into structured visual execution plans.
  • Motion Design: Conceptualize, design, and animate high-quality motion graphics for digital products, marketing assets, social media, and corporate communications.
  • Story & Narrative Ownership: Analyze project briefs and underlying content to construct clear, logically coherent visual narratives that support our overall brand story.
  • End-to-End Animation Pipeline: Manage projects from initial concept and rough visual sketching to motion execution, sound pairing, and final file export.
  • Brand Alignment: Work within established brand guidelines, typography systems, visual frameworks, and color palettes.
  • Async Collaboration: Communicate design rationale, project updates, and creative concepts clearly in written and asynchronous video formats (e.g., GitHub).

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Motion Graphics Designer or Editor.
  • Technical Mastery: Strong proficiency in Adobe Suite, especially After Effects.
  • Visual Storytelling & Narrative Sense: Proven portfolio demonstrating high craft in motion design, visual rhythm, timing, typography, and the ability to explain complex ideas visually.
  • Creative Autonomy & Agility: Ability to take loose briefs or raw concepts, independently map out motion concepts with minimal daily supervision, and navigate fast-paced deadlines.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with comfort collaborating directly with internal stakeholders in a remote, async environment.
  • Meeting Availability: Flexibility to attend a few recurring weekly team syncs and periodic ad-hoc project meetings, regardless of your local time zone.

Bonus Points / Preferred Skills

  • Experience animating data visualizations, infographics, charts, or UI components.
  • Experience with Figma or Framer.
  • Experience creating engaging visual metaphors for abstract or technical B2B topics.
  • Subject matter knowledge in FinTech, crypto/Web3 or cybersecurity.

Why join us?

  • We operate in a fully remote, high-trust environment and we prioritize impact and delivered results over hours logged.
  • We offer competitive compensation as well as medical, childcare & fitness stipends, mental health support, and fully covered co-working spaces.
  • We invest in our people through childcare and wellness stipends and dedicated employee assistance resources.
  • Join a thought leader at the intersection of national security and digital assets, working with cutting-edge tech that defines the field.
  • We’re fun as hell and do cool work.
