About this role

Gyld Finance is seeking a Lead Engineer for Tokenization to take hands-on ownership of their platform as they move into production, focusing on trading and order execution systems.

Description

Gyld Finance is building the infrastructure to bring fixed income on-chain. We issue tokenized financial products, starting with individual USD corporate bonds, with each token backed 1:1 by the underlying security held with regulated custodians and brokers.

We’re approaching launch. The core platform is already built, including broker and custody integrations, order execution, settlement and reconciliation, and on-chain compliance. This isn’t a greenfield role. You’ll be joining a small team taking a financial system through launch and into production, then helping shape what we build next.

Gyld Finance is backed by Lightshift, GSR, Anchorage Digital and others. Gyld was founded by Ruchir Gupta, previously Head of Treasury & Options at GSR and a fixed-income trader, and Abbas Ali, previously at J.P. Morgan Kinexys.

Responsibilities

Trading, Execution & Settlement

  • Own and improve systems that place broker orders, process fills, settle trades and reconcile positions and cash.
  • Build for the failure cases that matter in financial systems: partial fills, rejected orders, stale states, settlement breaks, retries and reconciliation mismatches.
  • Work across broker, custodian, banking and crypto rails as they intersect with trading and settlement.
  • Ensure our internal ledger, custodian positions and on-chain supply remain consistent.

Production Engineering

  • Own production services across our Rust-based architecture.
  • Improve reliability, observability, monitoring and alerting as the platform moves into live trading.
  • Strengthen CI/CD, deployment safety, testing and database migration practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues directly, including incidents involving live orders or settlement.

Tokenization & On-Chain Settlement

  • Work with our existing wallet, tokenization and on-chain settlement infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain the systems connecting off-chain securities and cash movements with on-chain issuance and redemption.
  • Work with compliance screening and transfer controls built into the token lifecycle.
  • Help design the technical architecture as we add new assets, brokers, custodians and chains.

Architecture & Engineering Standards

  • Make pragmatic architectural decisions for a small team operating financial infrastructure.
  • Keep critical architecture, operational procedures and system behaviour well documented.
  • Raise the engineering bar without introducing process for its own sake.
Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong hands-on experience building trading, order management or execution systems. This is the most important qualification.
  • Experience owning production systems where correctness and reliability matter.
  • Strong backend and systems engineering fundamentals.
  • Rust experience is preferred. Strong experience in another systems language with the ability to ramp quickly into Rust can also work.
  • Comfort with databases, distributed systems, APIs and asynchronous/event-driven architectures.
  • Working knowledge of blockchain and on-chain settlement concepts. Deep smart-contract expertise is not required.
  • Enthusiasm for using AI coding agents as part of your everyday engineering workflow.
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a small team.
  • Availability to join in the near term.
Conditions & Benefits

What We Offer

  • Significant ownership of a financial platform immediately ahead of launch.
  • A senior IC role with substantial technical autonomy and very little management overhead.
  • The opportunity to work across trading infrastructure, tokenization and on-chain settlement.
  • A small team where engineering decisions translate directly into the product.
  • Competitive compensation and equity.
