About this role
Join INEXIS GAMES as a Level Designer for an atmospheric sci-fi survival horror game. Contribute to the development of engaging levels and gameplay experiences.
Description
We are a small team developing an atmospheric sci-fi survival horror game, The Marian Hunter. The project is in the active development stage of concept, script, and gameplay demo.
Responsibilities
- Designing levels and game locations
- Planning player movement logic on the map
- Creating interesting routes: from entering the location to key events
- Placing rooms, corridors, technical areas, laboratories, and other game spaces
- Working with pacing: where to create tension, where to provide a breather, where to scare
- Planning points of interest, interactive objects, and game situations
- Integrating quests, scares, and plot events into the level structure
- Creating blockout/greybox prototypes of levels
- Collaborating with game designers, writers, and the 3D team
- Assisting in creating a demo version that feels cohesive and atmospheric
Requirements
- Understanding that a level is not just 'rooms and corridors', but part of the gaming experience
- Ability to think about the player's route: where they will go, what they will see, what they will feel
- Understanding of pacing: tension, exploration, surprise, reward
- Interest in horror/sci-fi games
- Ability to work in a team and accept feedback
- Initiative — we value someone who proposes ideas, not just places walls
