- Fraud prevention: Build real-time risk controls and decisioning systems for products such as ACH, debit cards, onramps, off-ramps, and other money movement experiences.
- Scam and abuse detection: Develop signals, models, and product interventions that identify malicious wallets, transactions, applications, and user behavior.
- Identity and compliance infrastructure: Build scalable KYC, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and audit systems.
- Data and intelligence: Create pipelines and tools that combine on-chain activity, product data, and third-party signals into actionable risk insights.
- Product safety: Partner with product and engineering teams to design safeguards into new features from the beginning without compromising the user experience.
- Operational tooling: Build internal tools that help Risk, Compliance, Support, and Security teams investigate incidents and take action efficiently.
- Team building: Help establish the technical foundations and engineering culture for a new, high-impact function at Phantom.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of full-time software engineering experience
- Experience designing and operating reliable, data-intensive production systems
- Strong product judgment and the ability to balance user experience, financial risk, and operational complexity
- Ability to work across frontend, backend, APIs, data pipelines, and third-party integrations
- Demonstrated interest in protecting users and building trustworthy financial products
- Nice to have: Experience with fraud, risk, identity, KYC, AML, sanctions, payments, fintech, or blockchain systems
- English language proficiency.

The target base salary for this role will range between $200,000 to $250,000 with the addition of equity and benefits.
