About this role

Plaid is seeking a Strategic Partnerships professional to manage external data partnerships for its Credit products, focusing on improving lending decisions and expanding access to credit.

Description

We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Seattle, Washington D.C., Raleigh, London, and Amsterdam.

Responsibilities
  • Data Strategy: Identify and prioritize external data partnerships that improve Plaid’s Credit products, insights, and roadmap.
  • Product Partnership: Work closely with Product and Engineering to translate product needs into partnership opportunities and bring new data capabilities to market.
  • Deal Execution: Lead the full partnership lifecycle – from market mapping and sourcing through diligence, structuring, negotiation, and execution.
  • Partner Growth: Grow partnerships from initial integration through scaled usage, continually identifying opportunities to expand their impact.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years in data partnerships, product partnerships, business development, or a related field.
  • Experience working in financial services, fintech, credit, or data businesses.
  • Track record of sourcing, structuring, and negotiating complex strategic and commercial partnerships.
  • Strong product orientation and ability to work closely with technical teams on complex data and integration topics.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to build a broader partner ecosystem, not just execute individual deals.
  • Excitement about using differentiated data to improve lending decisions and expand access to credit.
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in dynamic, high-growth environments where roles and processes are still being defined.
Conditions & Benefits
  • Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered.
  • Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
  • Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location.
  • Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
