Who You Are
The Vice President of Environmental is the enterprise environmental lead at Galaxy, owning environmental compliance across the full site lifecycle for development of Galaxy sites.This role directly oversees the environmental compliance team, drives consistent permitting and regulatory performance across all Galaxy sites, and serves as the primary escalation point for site-level environmental issues.
Success requires close cross-functional partnership with Site Development, Engineering, Pre-Construction, Construction, and Operations to embed environmental requirements at every phase, translating enterprise environmental strategy into field execution.
What You'll Do
- Lead environmental program execution across all Galaxy development phases and critical facility operations sites
- Ensure consistent application of Galaxy's environmental standards, procedures, and management systems
- Own environmental KPIs across all sites and drive continuous improvement
- Lead environmental due diligence on prospective sites, partnering with Site Development on environmental risk and permitting feasibility during site selection
- Review engineering and design submittals for environmental compliance, and develop permitting strategy for complex or multi-jurisdictional sites, partner with Engineering and Pre-Construction to embed requirements into site plans and project schedules
- Oversee contractor environmental performance across active construction phases; set and enforce site-specific environmental requirements
- Collaborate with Construction leadership to embed environmental strategy into construction phase planning and facility startup
- Own environmental permitting and renewals across the operational portfolio; partner with Operations on ongoing compliance, permit conditions, and reporting post-turnover
- Serve as the primary escalation point for significant site-level environmental incidents, regulatory contacts, and enforcement matters
- Manage environmental budget and allocate field resources appropriately
- Other duties as assigned by Director, EHS
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or related field required;
- Master's degree preferred
- 8–11 years of EHS experience including 5+ years in EHS leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site environmental compliance programs
- Strong working knowledge of RCRA, CWA, CAA, NEPA, and applicable state/regional regulations (e.g., TCEQ)
- Experience with ISO 14001, environmental due diligence, and permitting strategy for complex, multi-jurisdictional sites
- Strong analytical and presentation skills with experience delivering data to executive audiences
- Background in data centers, critical facilities, manufacturing, or logistics environments preferred
