Responsibilities
- Provide specialized financial crime compliance advisory support for SoFi’s digital asset and cryptocurrency products and services.
- Support the business in identifying and mitigating risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, and other illicit finance activity associated with digital assets.
- Ensure SoFi meets applicable regulatory requirements, expectations, and guidance.
- Support the development and maintenance of sound, risk-based AML and sanctions programs and controls across SoFi’s crypto ecosystem.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in AML, sanctions, financial crime compliance, or related risk management.
- Meaningful experience supporting cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech, or other technology-enabled financial services.
- Comprehensive understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain products (including crypto trading, custody, deposits and withdrawals, wallets, stablecoins, staking, and other digital asset services).
- Strong knowledge of digital asset financial crime risks (including money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud, mixers, self-hosted wallets, decentralized finance, and other blockchain-based illicit finance typologies).
- Experience developing, implementing, or advising on crypto AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, wallet screening, or KYT controls.
- Experience with blockchain analytics and transaction monitoring platforms (such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs, Elliptic, or comparable technologies).
- Excellent working knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC requirements and regulatory expectations applicable to cryptocurrency and digital asset activities (including applicable Travel Rule requirements).
- Experience conducting financial crime risk assessments for new crypto products, digital assets, blockchain networks, vendors, or material product changes.
- Experience providing AML and sanctions guidance and advice to Compliance, Business, Product, Engineering, and Investigations teams.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and across different business lines.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills that build effective cross-functional working relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, demanding, and rapidly evolving regulatory and technology environment.
- CAMS/CFE certification.
Conditions
- Salary: $137,600.00 - $236,500.00 Annually, plus bonus, long term incentives, and benefits.
