What You'll Do
- Own the Android product. Take end-to-end ownership of Polymarket's Android experience, from technical architecture to product quality and roadmap execution.
- Lead and grow the team. Manage and organize a team of engineers and contractors today, with a clear path to scaling as mobile becomes an increasingly central part of the business.
- Set the technical direction. Make and own architectural decisions for the Android platform, ensuring the product is built to scale and maintained with discipline.
- Bridge business and technology. Understand Polymarket's business goals deeply and translate them into technical strategy and prioritization. Be the person in the room who can connect what the company needs to what the Android team builds.
- Partner across the company. Work closely with product, design, backend, and leadership teams to align on priorities, coordinate launches, and drive quality outcomes.
- Raise the bar. Establish strong engineering and product standards for the Android team, including code review practices, release processes, and a culture of high ownership.
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience leading Android development at a product-driven company, with ownership over a shipped, high-quality Android app.
- Comfortable operating in a small, early-stage team environment where context shifts quickly and ownership is broad.
- Strong business and product judgment: you understand goals beyond the technical and can make tradeoffs that reflect what actually matters to the company.
- Experience managing engineers and contractors, with a track record of organizing and developing a high-performing team.
- Deep Android platform expertise and a strong grasp of Android-specific design patterns and constraints.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills: you work well with product, design, and non-technical stakeholders.
- A leadership mindset over an execution mindset: you're motivated by owning an area and scaling it, not just shipping features.
- (Plus) Experience in fintech, crypto, trading, or other fast-paced, data-rich consumer applications.
- (Plus) Familiarity with blockchain or Web3 products.
