About the Role

As a Trader on the Trading Solutions team, you will contribute to the growth of the trading business at Anchorage Digital. You will be responsible for facilitating the hedging needs of client flows, ensuring best-in-class service to clients, and managing risk exposures within the company's risk appetite. Success in this role requires responsiveness and attention to detail during all client and market interactions, while also improving the trading offering through tooling and technical investments.

Responsibilities

Technical Skills:

• Handle complex trades with a mindset of continuous optimization, measuring and understanding every basis point of execution to increase trading desk revenue while adhering to risk management guardrails


• Demonstrate deep crypto market microstructure expertise with ability to identify profitable price gaps while protecting assets from market volatility and automated traders


• Possess expert knowledge of both electronic and voice trading, influencing technology improvements inspired by traditional finance market structures


• Provide strong client-facing abilities, instilling confidence through excellent service and influencing clients to increase Anchorage's share of wallet


• Use Python to automate manual tasks; while Python expertise is not required, you should be comfortable using and modifying existing code as needed

Complexity and Impact of Work:

• Perform principal trading exposure management, including building and optimizing the trading desk's pricing, risk models, and governing controls


• Contribute to increasing automation so traders can focus on the most complicated trades, project work, and client engagement


• Follow market narratives closely to contribute perspectives to internal research efforts used to increase engagement with trading clients


• Help inform new products and capabilities within the trading business to meet clients' overall needs


• While on coverage, be available to immediately respond to changing exposures, client questions, and requests, including weekend and off-hours rotations

Organizational Knowledge:

• Understand how Trading fits within the firm's broader strategy as both a tool and standalone business, providing input to the technology roadmap


• Understand upstream and downstream implications of process changes, proactively voicing ideas and concerns as the business scales, including understanding industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices


• Ensure knowledge is shared among stakeholder teams and do not position yourself or others as a single point of failure

Communication and Influence:

• Stay up to date with underlying themes driving market prices and liquidity to deepen client interactions and execution strategies


• Champion the perspective of the Trading Solutions team during cross-department conversations and with existing clients


• Act as a mentor for junior team members, empowering the team to become experts in current processes while collaborating to implement enhancements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an OTC trader in the cryptocurrency space
• Demonstrated ability to convert institutional prospects into trading clients

All new hires must complete an in-person onboarding process as part of Anchorage Digital's security policy.
