About this role
Seeking a strong Tech Lead to oversee the technical implementation of a mobile online game. You will work directly with the project founder and developers, responsible for all technical decisions and code quality.
Description
We are looking for a strong Tech Lead who will take on the technical implementation of a mobile online game. The game engine is ready — you need to build the application (backend and frontend) on top of it.
Responsibilities
- Develop the application (backend and frontend) based on the existing game engine: architecture, technical solutions, standards, pipeline
- Coordinate the work of developers (Unity Developer, Full-stack Developer), set tasks and control their execution
- Hire and onboard new developers as the project grows
- Write code personally and participate in the implementation of key systems of the project — client and server parts
- Organize client-server interaction: API, state synchronization, backend work
- Ensure code quality: reviews, best practices, build stability
- Defend technical assessments and decisions to the Lead Game Producer
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and QA, helping to turn game mechanics into working technical solutions.
Requirements
- 7-8 years of experience in development
- Experience in mobile application/game development — must have successfully launched projects in the portfolio (not prototypes or abandoned ones)
- Proficient in both Cocos Creator (JavaScript/TypeScript) and Unity (C#)
- Experience in full-stack development
- Experience in client-server development, understanding of network interaction for multiplayer mechanics
- Experience building an application from scratch on top of an existing engine/platform
- Experience hiring and coordinating a team of developers
- Strong engineering foundation: architecture, patterns, clean and maintainable code
- Independence — making technical decisions without excessive coordination
- Fluent in Russian.
