Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a quant trader and a quant developer?
Quant traders and researchers design and run strategies. Quant developers build the trading systems, data pipelines and execution infrastructure those strategies rely on.
Do I need a finance background?
Not necessarily. Many firms hire from maths, physics and computer science, then teach market structure on the job. Trading experience in traditional markets is a plus.
