Cannon Ventures seeks a DeFi Yield Strategist to design and manage yield-generating strategies across DeFi protocols, focusing on risk-adjusted returns and capital efficiency.
About Cannon Ventures Cannon Ventures is a Houston-based venture platform focused on helping startups and small businesses scale with access to capital, operational support, and strategic guidance. As digital assets and on-chain finance grow, Cannon Ventures is expanding its DeFi investment capabilities to identify sustainable yield opportunities.
- Design and execute DeFi yield strategies across various products
- Evaluate opportunities by risk-adjusted return
- Monitor protocol health and smart contract risk
- Manage active allocations with clear portfolio rules
- Build and maintain performance tracking
- Stress-test strategies under different market scenarios
- Produce strategy reports for the investment team
- Collaborate on market intelligence and early-stage DeFi opportunities
- 2–4 years of experience in digital asset investing or DeFi operations
- Hands-on experience managing capital across major DeFi protocols
- Strong understanding of lending markets, AMMs, and tokenomics
- Knowledge of protocol and smart contract risk frameworks
- Familiarity with major ecosystems like Ethereum and Solana
- Experience with on-chain analytics tools
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in fast-moving markets
- Python/SQL skills are a plus
- Base salary: $95,000 – $145,000/year
