X5 Tech is looking for an Intern Data Scientist to join the personalization and CVM team. The role involves analyzing customer behavior data and developing ML models.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Explore large volumes of customer behavior data and find patterns to solve business problems
- Develop and improve ML models for predicting churn and user response
- Solve uplift modeling tasks and select optimal impacts on users
- Select personal products, categories, discounts, thresholds, and promo mechanics
- Generate and test hypotheses, participate in the preparation and analysis of A/B tests
- Evaluate model quality not only by ML metrics but also by their impact on business indicators
- Participate in the development of internal ML tools and frameworks of the team
- Participate in preparing models for industrial launch and their further development
Requirements
Requirements
- Studying in the senior years of undergraduate, in master's, or recently graduated in a technical specialty
- Good knowledge of Python and ability to write clear and structured code
- Understanding of machine learning basics and principles of classical ML algorithms
- Ability to work with data and knowledge of SQL
- Understanding of basic mathematical statistics, probability theory, and hypothesis testing
- Understanding of A/B testing principles and evaluation of experiment results
- Ability to independently tackle new tasks, formulate hypotheses, and test them on data
- Interest in applying machine learning to solve real business problems
- Plus: Familiarity with PySpark and understanding of distributed data processing principles
- Experience with PyTorch or other deep learning libraries
- Familiarity with uplift modeling, recommendation systems, or personalization tasks
- Experience participating in ML projects, competitions, research, or educational projects
- Familiarity with Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Grafana, MLflow
- Understanding of the ML model lifecycle and the process of deploying models into production
