About the Role
At Anchorage Digital, you will be part of a full stack engineering team charged with improving the client onboarding and billing experiences through front-end enhancements and back-end APIs, capturing critical data for record keeping and auditing, and supporting transaction monitoring and screening for risk detection, fraud prevention and anti-money laundering. The team collaborates directly with compliance, customer experience, finance, and legal teams as well as external third-party systems to support the company's regulatory commitments as the first and only federally chartered digital asset bank.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a wide-ranging experience, use in-depth professional concepts, and leverage knowledge and insights to develop, apply and resolve complex problems across multiple axes in creative and effective ways
- Design and build solutions that are easily maintainable and extensible for future functionality
- Drive work independently, lead or significantly contribute to medium-to-large projects or processes, usually multi-person interdepartmental or cross-functional projects
- Lead from end-to-end with little oversight and coordinate activities of other team members
- Break down large projects into smaller tasks and accurately estimate the time and scope of projects
- Articulate effectively the different options considered, analyze trade-offs, justify and recommend priorities
- Ensure that knowledge is shared among the team and do not position yourself or others as a single point of failure
- Monitor the development of the company objectives and/or trends that may affect its capacity to succeed
- Mentor and guide others on the team within your area of specialization or domain
- Help others understand the strategic goals of Anchorage and how their work relates to these
- Communicate outside team boundaries to solve problems, network with other teams, and establish positive working relationships in other disciplines and domains
Requirements
- Real world experience building complex distributed systems
- Deep appreciation for code quality, test infrastructure, and extensible architecture
- Prioritize end-user experience and business value over the latest tech
- Developed "computer science fundamentals", i.e. concurrency, algorithms, and data structures (Formal CS degree NOT required)
- Able to work in a fast-paced agile software environment, and able to context switch between multiple simultaneous tasks
- Believe software engineering is a team activity and enjoy collaborating every single day, learning from and mentoring others
Nice to Have
- Experience implementing effective billing systems in the financial services industry
- Design and implementation experience with GraphQL, gRPC, or Temporal
- Comfortable diving down the stack and into open source projects to root cause a bug
Compensation
$135,000 - $225,000
