What You Will Do

• Deliver against the pod's mission — own the full software delivery lifecycle including quality, from design through production and measurement.
• Operate in continuous flow (Kanban) — pull work, respect WIP limits, ship daily.
• Use AI agents as your primary delivery mechanism — code generation, testing, spec writing, deployment.
• Design, build, and debug software across backend and frontend with distributed systems awareness.
• Evaluate and tune agent workflows — steering docs, prompts, rules, skills.
• Write clean, well-tested code and take ownership of quality end-to-end.
• Act as the initial on-call responder, ensuring health and stability of deployed applications.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to shared tooling, knowledge bases, and the agent foundation kit.

Engineering Mindset — What We Look For

• AI Fluency: AI is the primary way we engineer. Prompt, evaluate, and iterate. Manual coding is a deliberate choice, not the default.
• Cross-Functional Versatility: “That’s not my area” doesn’t exist. Contribute beyond your discipline, share knowledge openly, and communicate clearly across different formats.
• Customer and Value Awareness: Ask “why” and “for whom” before “how.” Understand the bigger business context while still being able to zoom in and trace a bug. Map dependencies before you build.
• Craft: Apply SOLID principles, DRY, separation of concerns, and observability by default. Write clean, maintainable code with the right level of testing. Treat CI/CD as standard engineering practice, whether the code is written by a human or an AI agent.
• Technical Curiosity: Build a prototype, experiment, and try to break it before relying solely on documentation. Stay curious about how things work and continuously explore better approaches.
• Agency & Entrepreneurship: Don’t wait for permission. Take ownership of outcomes end-to-end, enable others to succeed, challenge the status quo, and proactively look for ways to create value.

Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following: Java/Spring Boot, Python, .NET, Go, or Angular, with the ability to learn and work with other technologies using AI.
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals, including distributed systems, data structures, API design, database concepts, and cloud computing.
• Experience with clean code practices, TDD, CI/CD, and version control.
• Experience with application monitoring, observability, and production debugging.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency in using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, pair programming, and automated testing.
• Experience with agent systems, MCP/tool protocols, or building AI-augmented workflows.
• Experience designing evaluation and observability strategies for AI-generated outputs.
• Nice to Have: Contributions to shared tooling, internal platforms, or open-source projects. Background in industries with strict regulatory requirements, such as gaming, financial services, or healthcare.
