Description

Databricks is the Data and AI company. More than 20,000 organizations worldwide — including adidas, AT&T, Bayer, Block, Mastercard, Rivian, Unilever, and 70% of the Fortune 500 — rely on the Databricks Data + AI Platform to build and scale data and AI apps, analytics and agents. Headquartered in San Francisco with 30+ offices around the globe, Databricks offers a unified platform that includes Genie, Lakebase, Agent Bricks, Lakeflow, Lakehouse, and Unity Catalog.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Credit & Collections function for an assigned scope within Databricks, including credit policies, collection practices, risk mitigation, and escalation protocols.
  • Own credit assessment, risk reviews, credit limits, payment terms, credit holds/releases, and exception management within the established approval framework.
  • Make credit recommendations and decisions within delegated authority, balancing credit risk, cash conversion, and commercial considerations.
  • Personally manage collections strategy and executive-level escalations for strategic and high-value Databricks customers.
  • Lead resolution of complex disputes, contractual payment issues, and commercially sensitive collection matters.
  • Own the monthly AR performance framework, including collection targets, cash collected vs. target, CEI, aging, write-offs, and cash forecasting.
  • Translate AR and credit trends into actionable insights for Finance leadership, including emerging risks, recovery outlook, and bad debt/reserve considerations.
  • Manage the Accenture collections engagement, including SLA/KPI governance, account allocation, quality, process adherence, escalations, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, RevOps, Legal, Billing, and Finance leadership to resolve high-impact credit and collection matters.
  • Identify systemic drivers of delinquency and credit exposure and lead initiatives to strengthen controls, processes, and collection effectiveness.
  • Drive process transformation and continuous improvement across Credit & Collections, leveraging automation, AI, analytics, and scalable operating models to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Serve as the subject-matter authority for Credit & Collections, providing guidance on complex cases, policies, credit decisions, and commercial considerations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is a must; CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience across Credit & Collections, ideally within high-growth SaaS, technology, or complex B2B environments.
  • Proven experience in credit risk assessment, collections strategy, and managing strategic or high-value customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of usage-based and subscription billing models, commercial contracts, and associated credit risks.
  • Demonstrated experience owning AR KPIs, collection targets, CEI, DSO, ageing, cash forecasting, write-offs, and bad debt/reserve analysis.
  • Experience operationalising credit policies, approval frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience governing outsourced collections operations against defined SLAs and performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate large datasets into clear financial and risk insights.
  • Advanced Excel and strong ERP/reporting systems experience; SAP, NetSuite and Salesforce preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process transformation, automation, or technology-enabled improvements; practical application of AI in finance or AR operations is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with customers and senior cross-functional stakeholders.
