Alfa-Bank is looking for a Junior Database Administrator (DBA) for remote work, focusing on Greenplum database management and optimization.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Administration and support of Greenplum DBMS.
- Performance tuning, optimization, and diagnostics of DBMS.
- Deployment of new servers and segments of Greenplum.
- Configuration of fault-tolerant setups and replication mechanisms.
- Backup process configuration and verification of data recovery.
- Monitoring setup and development using Zabbix, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Participation in working groups to investigate and resolve complex incidents with the DBA team.
- Version updates and patch management of the DBMS.
- Development and automation of administration tasks using Ansible and Bash.
- Configuration of PXF and gpfdist for data interaction with external sources.
- Development of internal expertise in Greenplum support and knowledge transfer from external contractors.
- Maintenance of technical documentation and interaction with Greenplum and PostgreSQL technical support.
- Support of PostgreSQL as a backup administrator for specific systems.
Requirements
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience with Greenplum.
- Understanding of Greenplum architecture and MPP system principles.
- Confident knowledge of Linux at the administrator level.
- Experience in analyzing and optimizing DBMS performance.
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to analyze query execution plans.
- Skills in reading logs and diagnosing DBMS issues.
- Understanding of backup and data recovery principles.
