Technical Expert PHP

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-load backend systems on PHP (including working with monoliths and microservices)
• Design and implement new functionalities for products
• Participate in refactoring and development of existing systems, including decomposing monolithic applications
• Implement best practices in development, testing, CI/CD, and code documentation
• Conduct code reviews and architectural reviews, control code quality in the team
• Participate in incident investigations and improve platform resilience
• Work on technical debt and form a plan for its repayment together with the team

Requirements

• Experience in commercial PHP development — at least 5 years
• Experience in technical leadership (mentoring, code review, standardization) in a team of at least 5 developers
• Deep practical skills in Yii2 development and understanding of backend application principles
• Experience in designing and working with high-load systems
• Practical experience with message brokers: Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ
• Understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and practical application
• Proficient with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL), able to profile and optimize queries
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience in implementing and developing CI/CD processes (preferably GitLab)
• Experience in organizing automated testing and code quality control
• Understanding of OOP principles, knowledge of modern design patterns and programming patterns
• Experience with observability and monitoring systems
• Will be a plus:

- Experience with BPMN engines (e.g., Temporal) - Practical experience in decomposing monolithic systems and transitioning to microservices - Experience applying Outbox, CDC, Strangler Pattern patterns - Experience building event-driven architectures (EDA) - Experience in fintech, big tech, martech, or large e-com/delivery companies - Experience in forming technical strategy and developing engineering practices in the team
