Join StarTribe as a Lead Python Developer in Cyprus, focusing on high-load backend services for iGaming platforms. Lead a team, design architecture, and ensure technical quality.
StarTribe is part of a large international holding (name under NDA) that has been creating and developing large-scale IT products for major companies, including world-renowned brands, for over 10 years. The holding employs about 10,000 people in different countries, with the main office located in Cyprus. Our main focus is iGaming: we create technological solutions for online entertainment, sports, and games. We work in the B2B segment and are among the industry leaders (top-10 in the world).
- Design architecture and develop backend services for managing data storage and processing infrastructure;
- Ensure technical quality: code review, development standards, testing, documentation;
- Form and develop a team of Python developers: participate in hiring, mentor, distribute and decompose tasks;
- Integrate internal and external systems within the platform, design APIs (REST/gRPC);
- Create custom tools for managing data flows and automating infrastructure processes;
- Collaborate with DevOps to establish CI/CD, deployment, and service observability (metrics, logs, alerting);
- Participate in technical planning, assess timelines and risks, communicate with adjacent teams.
- 5+ years of commercial development in Python, including 1-2 years in a team lead, tech lead, or senior developer role;
- Experience in designing and developing high-load distributed services;
- Deep knowledge of SQL and experience with DBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), understanding their internal structure and optimization;
- Confident work in UNIX systems and command line;
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes: building images, writing manifests/Helm charts, deploying services;
- Experience in building testing (unit, integration tests) and code review culture;
- Understanding observability principles: metrics, logs, tracing (Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
- Official employment according to the labor code of Cyprus;
