About this role
Looking for an experienced Narrative Designer to create a cohesive story for a single-player campaign in a small game development team.
Description
A small team of developers in production strategy suddenly realized they needed a full-fledged single-player campaign.
Responsibilities
- Create a coherent plot with arcs, conflicts, intrigue, cliffhangers, and catharsis at the end.
- Develop details of the lore visible from the plot and mechanics.
- Outline characters that fit organically into the game world and reveal them through the plot.
- Tie the plot to game mechanics, ensuring cutscenes and dialogues are minimal, enhancing player freedom without breaking the story.
- Write (or delegate, oversee, and deliver) cutscene scripts, if any.
- Write (or delegate, oversee, and deliver) dialogue texts.
- Advise the team on narrative aspects they may have overlooked and ensure everything is done beautifully (and/or delegate/oversee).
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in narrative design, 3+ years in game development.
- Experience in related fields (game design, level design, project management, programming, etc.) is welcome.
- Experience working in government agencies and corporations is a plus.
