About this role

Seeking a Linux Kernel Developer for an international IT company focused on long-term support and security of Enterprise Linux systems.

Description

We are an international IT company that focuses on long-term support and security of Enterprise Linux systems.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze security patches and bug fixes in the upstream Linux kernel, identifying dependencies.
  • Backport patches to RPM and Debian kernel distributions, manually resolving version conflicts.
  • Build and rebuild kernel source and binary packages in a reproducible environment.
  • Test patched kernels through point tests, build checks, and regression analysis.
  • Write scripts for automating patch preparation, builds, and checks (Python, Go, or Shell).
  • Utilize AI tools to speed up routine tasks and validate generated code.
Requirements
  • Proficient in C with practical experience debugging the Linux kernel.
  • Experience in patching, backporting, or developing the kernel.
  • Understanding of Git, GNU build tools, and experience building kernels or distribution packages.
  • Automation skills in Python, Go, or Shell.
  • Experience working with AI assistants in development and ability to validate their results.
  • English from B1/B2 (reading documentation, correspondence, calls).
